Marketing gets much easier when you know what to say.
You know your products. You know your customers.
You know what you stand for and what makes your work different.
But every time you sit down to create some marketing content for your handmade business, you find yourself struggling.
"What am I going to talk about today?"
Sometimes an idea comes straight away.
Sometimes you end up down a rabbit hole of distracting Reels featuring your favourite talking parakeet while searching Instagram for ideas.
And you've got to do it all again tomorrow.
But it doesn't have to be like this.
You've got so many things to say about your products. The problem is they're trapped in half remembered snippets of conversations, buried in the back of your brain.
Find Your Angles gets them out of your head and into a format where they can actually save you time AND increase your sales.
We'll show you:
- What your customers need to hear from you before they buy
- How you can make your business stand out from the competition
- How you can increase desire for your products
- How to get attention with your marketing.
Stop staring at a blank screen wondering what to say, or trawling through other people's posts looking for "inspiration," and start each piece of marketing with a strategic message that leads to sales.
How to make someone want what you're selling
If your marketing is mainly focused on just showing your things, it's just not going to be as effective as it could be.
Because there's a difference between showing something and making people want it.
Showing something might be enough to make your followers interested in it, but it won't always be enough to make them buy it.
But what makes any given person buy? It's different for everyone.
Take a plain wool jumper. One person might buy it because of its comfort, another because you used recycled wool, another to give it as a gift, and another because they want something to last a long time.
If you want to sell to them all, then you need to use different angles in your marketing.
We call these "messaging angles" - because each person needs to hear a different message.
A messaging angle is simply the main idea or argument behind a piece of marketing. It's how you're choosing to talk about the product so that you can "sell" it to a specific person.
The more messaging angles you can identify for your work, the easier it becomes to create interesting marketing without feeling like you're repeating yourself.
And you also maximise your sales, because your messages stack on top of each other to make your work easy to buy.
Find Your Angles helps you discover those ideas.
How it works
You'll answer a series of thoughtful questions about:
- your products
- your customers
- the questions people ask before they buy
- the details that make your work different
- the reasons people choose you
- how people use and enjoy your work
- the experiences you've had running your business
Then we'll analyse your answers and put together the most important messaging angles for selling your specific products to your specific customers.
The more detailed your answers, the better the analysis.
The difference this makes
You sit down to write a social media post, and you have lots of things to talk about.
You decide to film some Reels and you already know what you need to show.
You open your email software and you can write the next two or three months' worth of emails, because you've got so many good ideas to choose from.
You can finally use that list of social media prompts you bought and never used, because you now know how to customise them for the messages you need to share.
You might even know how to adapt that new social media trend so that it actually serves a purpose for your business, rather than just feeding the algorithm.
What you get
A personalised PDF, built from your answers and written specifically for your business and your products.
20 marketing angles, sorted into 5 key areas
- what your customers need to hear in order to buy
- what makes your business different
- how to help your customers picture your products in their lives
- how to surprise your followers and get attention
- how to gather and use customer feedback in your marketing
You'll also get some notes on how to use each angle in your social media, email or product descriptions.
The PDF is yours to keep and, if things change, you can go through the questions again to generate a new one.
Find Your Angles is for you if...
- Marketing always seems to take forever and you never know what to write about
- You regularly struggle for ideas about what to post on social media.
- Writing emails feels like such a chore.
- Your product descriptions all sound a bit similar.
- You feel as though you've already talked about everything.
- You want your marketing to feel more interesting and less repetitive.
- You're sick of trying to please the algorithm and want to focus on making sales from your content, instead of just getting likes.
A really great resource for thinking about how ALL areas of your business can be used for content creation. The PDF has given me lots of 'angles' to come at this from....some that I'd never considered and some that I didn't think I had anything to say for...but it turns out I have a lot to say! A fabulous bonus is that you can keep using this over and over again...which is great if you have more than one area in your business or lots of different products.
About Nicola
I'm Nicola and I'm the founder of Maker's Business Toolkit and the creator of the Maker's Yearbook, a planner for artists, makers and handmade business owners.
I've worked with makers for over 10 years and I have seen first hand how many people are getting in their own way when it comes to marketing their work.
Overcomplicating, overthinking, perfectionism, low confidence and fear of rejection can lead us to either retreat from sharing our work, or promote it so apologetically that we're setting ourselves up for failure.
I want to make it as quick and easy as possible for you to get your work seen by the people who would absolutely love what you do … if only they knew about it.
Because that's how you support yourself with your creative work and build a business that gives you a meaningful career and a comfortable life.
FAQs
How long does it take to complete the questions?
Most people complete it in around an hour, but you don't have to do it all in one sitting. We send you an email with a link that you can use to return to your answers if you don't have time to finish it all in one go.
Will it work for my handmade niche?
Your results are based on your own answers, so they're specific to your business. That being said, the more information you include and the more you use your own words, the better the results will be.
For even better results try using the dictation settings on your phone or laptop to speak your answers.
Does this product use AI?
Yes. An AI agent, trained on Nicola's marketing methodology, takes your answers and makes suggestions about the things you should talk about in your marketing, to make more sales.
Will I get fully written social media posts or emails?
No. Find Your Angles will give you a list of messages to include in your marketing and a list of topics that you can create content around. It doesn't write the content for you, but it does make it much easier for you to write it (or to prompt AI if that's part of your process).
What if I don't have any customer feedback?
Find Your Angles will work with what you've got. And we'll also give you some angles for collecting customer stories and information about how people are using your products.
Stop wondering what to say.
You know more than you think about your customers and why they buy from you.
Find Your Angles will help you get it all out of your head and into a personalised list of 20 marketing messages, specifically for your handmade business, so you never need to wonder what to write about again.
